Meningitis
Meningococcal meningitis is an acute bacterial disease with sudden onset fever, intense headaches, nausea and vomiting, stiff neck and is often accompanied by a rash.Transmission is by person-to-person contact. The disease can be fatal and travellers to sub-Saharan Africa are at particular risk.
It is mandatory for those going to Mecca.
Vaccination is the only preventative method.
