Influenza
It is a viral disease characterized by fever, joint pains, myalgia, headache, sore throat, coughing and runny nose.
- The influenza vaccine should be taken taken by those most at risk of developing serious complications:
- Pregnant women
- Persons 65 years and older
- Chronic respirsatory illnesses e.g asthma and emphysema
- Chronic illnesses such as diabetes or renal disease and heart failure
- Immunocompromised patients e.g HIV positive, patients having chemotherapy or radiation
- Young children
- Medical personnel
